Therapy that makes room for the whole story.
I’m Jaclyn Johnson, a licensed professional counselor and EMDR Certified Therapist specializing in trauma-focused therapy for adults.
My work is grounded in the understanding that the ways we cope, protect ourselves, and relate to others often developed for a reason. Therapy can offer a place to better understand those patterns, work with experiences that continue to feel unresolved, and develop new ways of responding in the present.
I work especially with adults experiencing trauma and PTSD, complex or developmental trauma, anxiety and depression, attachment and relationship wounds, chronic pain-related distress, and difficult life transitions.
I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, individualized, and grounded in a sense of safety and trust. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we can explore the experiences, patterns, beliefs, and protective responses that may be contributing to what you are experiencing today.
My approach is trauma-informed and attachment-focused, integrating EMDR with parts-oriented and other evidence-based approaches. Therapy may include building resources and coping skills, developing greater understanding of patterns and triggers, processing unresolved experiences, and strengthening your ability to respond differently in the present.
My Approach
You don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. We can begin with what is affecting you now.
Therapy is individualized to your needs, experiences, and goals. Some of the concerns I commonly work with include:

Anxiety & Depression
Persistent worry, emotional overwhelm, low mood, negative beliefs about yourself, and feeling stuck in familiar patterns.Veterans & Military Experiences
Trauma, adjustment, identity, relationships, and experiences connected to military service and the transition between military and civilian life.
Chronic Pain & Health-Related Distress
The emotional and psychological impact of chronic pain, health conditions, and changes in functioning.Life Transitions & Adjustment
Major changes, loss, relationship changes, stress, and periods when life no longer feels the way it once did.
Experience & Community Connections
My clinical experience includes outpatient therapy and co-occurring mental health and substance use treatment, with a particular focus on trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, and the ways past experiences can continue to affect present-day functioning and relationships.
EMDR Certified Therapist
I am an EMDR Certified Therapist and integrate EMDR with trauma-informed, attachment-focused, and parts-oriented approaches. My work emphasizes thoughtful preparation and individualized treatment rather than a one-size-fits-all approach to trauma processing.
Veteran Resilience Project
I am a clinician with the Minnesota Veteran Resilience Project, providing EMDR therapy to veterans and service members. This work is part of my broader commitment to providing trauma-informed care to military-connected individuals.

Therapy does not have to move faster than you are ready for. We will take time to understand what you are experiencing, identify what you would like to change, and develop an approach that fits your individual needs. Some sessions may focus on understanding patterns, building resources, or developing greater awareness of how past experiences are showing up in the present. Others may involve deeper processing through EMDR or other trauma-focused approaches. Throughout the process, you are an active participant in your treatment. We can adjust the pace, focus, and approach as your needs change.
What You Can Expect
You do not have to arrive knowing exactly where to begin. We can figure that out together.
